JunkFest 2025 is an exciting inaugural festival poised to become a significant event on the North Queensland calendar. Scheduled for Saturday 4th October 2025, at the Horseshoe Bay Community Center on Magnetic Island, JunkFest celebrates creativity and sustainability by transforming discarded materials into extraordinary art, fashion, and functional pieces.

Organized by the Magnetic Island Community Development Association (MICDA) and the Zero Waste Magnetic Island group, and partially funded by the Townsville City Council, JunkFest is more than just a festival; it's an educational tool promoting recycling and reusing, contributing to the "Towards Net Zero Magnetic Island (Yunbenun)" Climate Action Project.
